Town of Bassendean's NAIDOC Family Fun Day - Fibrant's free craft workshops

Fibrant were sponsored by the Town of Bassendean to run free craft workshops as part of NAIDOC celebrations at Ashfield Reserve on Thursday 11 July 2013. Despite a rainy day over 1000 plaited headbands and bracelets were made on the day, wow! Even the police horses were decorated with plaited headware!

Fibrant's Australia Day Art Event

A few images of Fibrant's Australia Day bush themed community art installation under a marquee at Town of Bassendean's Australia Day celebrations at Ashfield Reserve. 

A sunset made of torn strips of recycled fabrics was hung behind a wall of butterflies and spiders made from magazines, tie wires and yarn. 

Participants could use recycled materials to make butterflies, spiders, native flowers, weave, colour message sticks or native animal faces such as kangaroos, emus and koalas.

Community Art Installation

Fibrant members are busy with preparations
for a community art installation as part of the
Town of Bassendean's Australia Day celebrations.
On Saturday January 26th from 5-8pm
families are invited to come along and help make
a large Australian bush themed art installation
at Ashfield Reserve, Guildford Road, Bassendean.
